Game crashes on startup - Exit code 0

Essentially, game launcher opens fine but as soon as I try to launch any version of game with an exit code 0.  There is no generated crash report in the .minecraft folder (at least as far as I can see), but attached is the bootup sequence from launcher_log.

One line that struck out to me was '[Info: 2020-12-31 21:28:34.6272075: GameCallbacks.cpp(162)] Launcher/launcher (main) Info Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.client.main.Main' - I tried reinstalling the game, updating drivers and restarting my laptop with no success.
