All swords won't break blocks

I was building a house and there were animals in the way so I started killing them. I accidentally hit a block and it did not break. I thought it was only that sword so i tried all swords and still it did not break. I even tried on different blocks and same result. Please fix this ASAP because it's kind of annoying. Thanks in advance. =)
