Unable to break blocks just inside my reach, even though it says I can.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Create a setup like in the attached screenshot.

2) Crawl by going under the trapdoor.

3) Try to break the ground-level block.

If done correctly, the block will create the particles as if it's breaking, and it will disappear for a split second, yet it will come back instantly.
