Server Is 1.3, when Server Is 1.6?

So, I was in an SMP server long time ago, and I was going to play yesterday, but I didn't want to, because it said "1.3" but actually, when my friend played, it was "1.6.1" and I joined. I tried to fix it, but it looked like it was 1.3.
