Jumping on Waterlogged Dripstone Does Damage if Player is Also Touching Land

If a player jumps on waterlogged pointed dripstone and are not touching land they don't take damage; however, if a player jumped on waterlogged pointed dripstone but are also halfway on land they will take damage and I feel like this is inconsistent?
