LAN not working on Minecraft Java Edition

I recently bought Minecraft Java Edition and tried to create a LAN world. When my friend tries to join, this error would pop up. "io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection timed out: no further information". We tried changing versions, changing WiFi, and restarting.
