I am unable to costomize my character

I have bought some of the free packs to try and change what my minecraft character looks like but anytime I try to do so none of the packs will load. I loved being able to switch my look when I played on my Xbox 360. Is there a way to fix this? I currently play on Playstation 4. Thank you for any help you can give me.
