Sorry! Make Sure you are online and try again.

So, I just bought Minecraft. I download the launcher. I log in with my Gmail and password. Every time I put in my info it keeps saying "Sorry! Make Sure you are online and try again." I want to make sure I didn't just waste 27 dollars.
