Iron Golems have attack animations but dont deal damage

I was playing in my survival world when I accidently hit an iron golem spawned form the village i was looting. It came towards me and started to attack but did not deal damage. This world has no cheats and I had my god armor on but it still would have done some damage. Please fix this bug.
