singleplayer Server lag generating chunks on horse-back

quick note, this is my first post so please be nice if i have done something wrong.
riding around with the new horses/donkeys i noticed i was getting some large server lag spikes generating new chunks in singleplayer (and presumably MP as well) . i don't know if anyone else has reported this, its more of an annoyance than anything else but still....
