Can't launch game. Just bought it and downloaded and it crashes when I select play

*What I expected to happen was...for the game to start when I logged in and selected play.
Describe what you thought should happen here...I don't know. It is my first attempt to play this. I'm very disappointed. Just paid $26 and can't play.

*What actually happened was...when I select play, I see 30 seconds of scripts scrolling by and a crash tab created and no game. Is this how you start the game???

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Buy Minecraft
2. Download game
3. Download Minecraft.exe
4. Try to run Minecraft Launcher
5. Watch script go by and no game appear.
6. Press report to Mojang button and find out you have to create a new ID and account to process a crash report. Why not use the same account used to purchase the game?
7. Hope to get the trouble corrected.
