Netherite Armor Breaking Faster Than Diamond Armor

I had just made a netherite helmet with Aqua Affinity and Respiration III and the durability has been going down all most as fast as my iron armor. I thought maybe swimming with the enchantments wear down durability, but I've barely sawm with it on. I then thought maybe it was swimming in lava with fire resistance, but I only did that twice and it's still going down the same speed long after I swam in lava. So could you please tell me if it's either a bug or if I did something wrong? It's just so weird that diamond armor is lasting longer than netherite.
