Impossible to launch Minecraft

Impossible to play! Once we launch the game, it crashes immediatly and we get the following message.

The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError

We tried everything (i.e. all possible options) mentioned in the related topic of the Help Center (Minecraft Troubleshooting > Minecraft Launcher Failure) and nothing worked.

Please make sure we get a solution ASAP, as we haven't been able to play since we purchased the game a while ago!
