"The application Minecraft has unexpectedly quit"

I downloaded the new Minecraft launcher, I was fine until I clicked "Play". In the tab "Development Console" I saw that it was coding, or something like coding, then there was a pop-up that said, "The application Minecraft has unexpectedly quit". What do I have to do to play Minecraft on the new update?
