Dupe glitch with crystals

If you place a sticky piston next to and one block down from a budding amethyst and place an amethyst on the face of the piston then put a redstone clock w/o a one tick pulse as from observers to the sticky piston, then on every pull of the sticky piston, amethyst shards will apear as if the crystal broke, but the crystal remains on the face of the piston, creating about 40 shards per second.
