Game crashes my whole computer

After updating to 1.16.4 a few minutes into playtime, maximum of 10 minutes, the game crashes my whole computer. The screen's images has once remained clear, however the other 3 times that this has happened the screen has glitched with an audible pop.

 

This has rendered the game virtually unplayable unless I plan to play for only 5 minutes, which I don't.
