Minecraft crashes on startup

 

Minecraft crashes when the play button is pressed. The following error message is received.

An unexpected issue occurred and the game has crashed. We're sorry for the inconvenience.

Exit Code: 0

Don't know if this matters, but when the launcher is started, this error message is received on the command line:

[0919/230832.316072:ERROR:sandbox_linux.cc(346)] InitializeSandbox() called with multiple threads in process gpu-process.
