Striders can spawn inside bastions

Striders can spawn inside bastions. Just go somewhere to their lava (must be a full source) and wait. Striders can spawn.

Or you can just explore these bastions and if you are lucky, you will find a strider. My strider in the screenshot was not spawned by an egg. And there is no way it could get there on its own.
