Minecraft latent instance

Hello,

I tried to log in to my friend's hosted server this morning and received the message Failed to log in : Invalid session.

So I followed the recommended steps to restart the game and the launcher making sure that I was logged out when I quitted the launcher and that the game+launcher were closed. Logged back in and I still get the same message.
I then tried to uninstall minecraft completly and delete the .minecraft folder. I then restarted my computer and reinstalled minecraft. Still got the same issue going on. After that I changed my account's password and uninstalled-reinstalled minecraft again but the issue still persists.

I didn't connect to minecraft from another PC that the one I'm using and nobody knows my passwords. I ran out of ideas on what to do to resolve the issue and that's why I'm here. My account's in-game name is Chxresubles.
