[MC-198411] Shift clicking to get item in crafting table produces a NullPointerException

Shift clicking (EDIT: Or simply clicking) on the produced item in a crafting table or in the crafting menu within the inventory results in a NullPointerException. The given reason is "Rendering error" or "Ticking screen". See crash reports below.
