Typing "a" in the creative mode inventory search bar will erase any letter typed

I can't search any block with the letter "a" in its name, everytime I type "a" it deletes every letter I had typed before it. As an example I can't type chains, cauldron, or planks because of this, but it will allow me to type if "a" is the first letter. Like in armor.
