Game disconnecting and freezing my Switch

I am playing on a Nintendo switch. The game will show me "disconnected from server" and then my switch will freeze. I have to restart the whole switch and then it will happen again a couple minutes later. I installed the new update this morning. It also is happening whenever I play with my daughter and she closes out the game. Instead of kicking me out of the server, after the "disconnected" notification shows up my Nintendo switch freezes and I have to restart the switch in order to do anything.
