Nether portal not accurate

Me and my friend were playing minecraft and we made a nether portal. It took us in the middle of a lava ocean, so we went out, and explored. 2 hours later, 5000-6000 blocks away we made a new one, and took us to the EXACT SAME PLACE.

 

I dont know if this is a bug, or intended but Im still reporting it
