Minecraft server time resets Automatically at 12000 ticks

When I use the Time set command my minecraft server resets automatically if I set time to 12000 ticks. Exactly at sunset the server time switches to early morning. 

I can use the time set command to change the time to sometime during the night but for some reason it resets just as it turns to sunset.
