Reaching the top of a climbable block and attempting to continue climbing causes the player to bounce

When holding space or otherwise climbing a block in #minecraft:climbable, upon reaching the top, the player will bounce up and down. I'd expect that the player would simply stop moving upon reaching the very top but this is not the case here.
