No verification code sent to email when resetting password

I forgot my password so i clicked on forgot password, and then it asked for my email so i put the correct email in and clicked sent. When i checked my email their was nothing sent to it so i checked my spam, trash etc. I have waited for months and nothing has come and i searched online, apparently other people have had the same problem. I really want to play Minecraft and i have so for 5+ years and now i cannot even log in.
