Infinite Chunk Deletion

I have a world where I remodel the Minecraft structures such as desert temples, villages, etc. and I wanted to try and take on the bastion remnant so I updated my world to 1.16.1 from 1.15.2 and all the chunks outside of a 32 chunk render distance have been deleted.
