Ender dragon not perching on end portal properly

video0.movWhen ender dragon perched at the end portal at first, it acted normally but when it left it when into the ground. Before it perched at the portal again, a tower was built upwards and water was dropped. When the dragon came back it started flying around and acting funny. When water was removed it did not perch but instead left the end exit portal.
