boat left turns effected by throwing item and going forward

When the throw key left key and forward are set to their defaults (w,q, and a) the boat can't turn left and go forward at the same time I tested it changing the controls and the problem did not occur. when holding q and w I was able to make right turns but not left ones and while holding q and a I was not able to go forward.
