The multiplayer is not working at all for me on Minecraft.

Whenever I get on Minecraft, I expect to play multiplayer servers and realms, but when I try to play a realm, it says the session has expired and to please restart Mc. I do that and it doesn't help. When I try to join a server, it says the servers are down, but everyone else I know can join those same servers that I tried joining.
