splitscreen guest player loss of all items in inventory after saving and quitting

During split screen play in minecraft survival mode on xbox one, anytime the guest player saved and left, when that same guest rejoined with the guest profile they were spawned at the original spawn point with no items in inventory. Causing us to lose multiple diamond weapons and tools, upsetting us greatly. Basically the guest player is completely reset even after saving and quitting.
