invenory and spawn point resetting in demo mode

Hi,

I play in demo mode, and noticed the latest of java 1.16 has a bug. Any time I close minecraft my inventory is emptied and spawn point reset, also the chest with basics is generated, and the timer reset. When I save and quit to the title screen the inventory and spawn point remain. I have tried deleting Minecraft and any associated files, which didn't help.
