Game crashes when trying to launch 1.16

When I try to launch the game in 1.16 release it crashes, sometimes outright, sometime it will load into the pink mojang screen but crash before the progress bar completes. Below a link to the crash report one of numerous.

I see this issue among multiple people both here and in the support discord. There is no answer and I've tried a myriad of things to no avail for the last 2 hours. The launcher will launch 1.13 but will not launch anything newer.
