Can't do F3 shortcuts

I was playing minecraft 1.16 and then i wanted to see chunk borders to help me mine. So I did the keyboard shortcut, but it didn't work. Then i tried F3+T and that didn't work either. None of them worked. But just F3 still worked and pulled up debug. So i don't exactly know what to make of this.
