piglin, items from player dying, and piglin despawning with said items

I died and lost my items. A piglin ( a baby if that maters) came a long and pick some of them up. a elytra, diamond shovel, diamond boots (all enchanted if it help) and, a gold helmet. I came back for it but some other piglin kill me. I was not worried about my items that the piglin had pick up because I thought it couldn't despawn ( because it had my items and I did not give them the items.) but it did. there is no were it could of gone but it was just gone. I would under stand if I was in all gold gear but a elytra and diamond gear.  Its not gold and with their whole thing being gold and I would think if it had on anything on that wasnt gold or something else they can spawn with it would not despawn. Like how a zombie does if it can take tools and weapons from the player. (note: it was in multiplayer if that has a effect, but I would think it could happen in single player base on what happen) also if this has a effect I had my respawn in the overworld the 2 time I died. also the piglin pick them up when I came back the first time.
