Minecraft player hand not showing up

When I switched from spectator mode into creative mode the player hand will sometimes not show up until you go back into spectator and repeat the process.  This only happens sometimes.  From the picture you can see that I have the creative hotbar.

What I expected to happen was...:
I expected for my player hand to show up

What actually happened was...:
When I switched gamemodes my hand was invisible and did not show up

Steps to Reproduce:
1. use F3 and n to go into spectator mode
2. use F3 and n to toggle into creative mode
3. Now the hand should be invisible.
