[1.16] Realms screen is unusable, and makes the game highly unstable

Opening the Realms screen displays nothing, and occasionally crashes the game with the following exception:

_The game crashed whilst rendering screen
Error: java.lang.NullPointerException: Rendering screen_

This may also occur after opening the screen and idling.
