#minecraft:tick tag/tick.json no longer works in 1.16

When I updated to 1.16, and attempted to continue working on my datapack, it stopped working, as the function tag #minecraft:tick was no longer being called. When I checked the datapacks/NAME/data/minecraft/tags/functions/ both the tick.json and the load.json files were there, but only load.json was being called(when loaded). When I tried to use the /function #minecraft:tick command. Nothing happens
