Splash text only updates when going from "Multiplayer" or "Options" to the main menu

Prior to when the splash texts were reverted to not only showing coronavirus splash texts, the splash text would change only when clicking one of the main menu buttons and pressing escape. This is intended (MC-13118). However, currently, the splash text only changes when pressing escape from the "Multiplayer" or "Options" menu.
