Block keeps breaking texture when not mining the block

Steps to reproduce:

1. Make sure you are in survival
2. Place a torch on a stone block
3. Face towards the stone block
4. Break the torch with a pickaxe and start breaking the stone block behind it, but do not finish
5. Stop mining
6. Bring pointer away from block

When you do this, the cracks stay there for a couple seconds.
