Shortcuts in creative inventory not working

What I expected to happen was...:
When i pressed a number of my hotbar in creative inventory the item goes to my hotbar

What actually happened was...:
It types the number on the search items bar

Steps to Reproduce:
1. go to the creative inventory search items bar
2. press a number of your hotbar with the item you want to put in your hotbar
3. the bug happens
