Buckets Sometimes Doesn't Place The Water

Sometimes when i place water down it appears that i did, but i actually don't. The image i sent shows a bucket of water but that bucket is actually empty and it does a weird glitch with the water. its really annoying because sometimes when i go to do a MLG bucket, i just hit the ground because that bug. Thanks!
