Shadows and unable to identify stuff

It is hard to play because of the shadows. It is on my characters, makes all the animals dark so I cannot tell what they are sometimes or what color sheep there is. It makes it a little slower. I play on an HP Desktop. This does not happen in other versions of the game, only 20w22a.
