If you have two nether portals in one world, then the destination of the second portal will match the first

As I created a new Minecraft survival world, I ended up creating a nether portal (no reason) and headed through to the nether to get materials. Later on, I built another portal, and was surprised to find myself in the destination of the first nether portal.
