VBO causing minecraft to crash

When I turn VBO on in video settings and log into a server my game crash.

However this only happens on certain servers such as the hive but doesnt happen on faithfulmc/lunar.gg

I did not have this issue last week but i do now.

I would appreciate any help as having vbo on makes my game play alot smoother and its very difficult to enjoy the game with it off.
