Bastion Remnant found in Overworld.

I was in my Minecraft Hardcore world when a pillar of obsidian appeared before me.  I dug It out and under the sand was a bastion remnant with achest and everything not including nether mobs and I never even went to the nether! It could be a bug or a game feature, IDK.
