End Gateway doesn't spawn after dragon is killed.

I play a lot of hardcore minecraft and I have created multiple worlds in the snapshot versions of Minecraft. I was playing on this snapshot and when the dragon was finished off I went searching for the portal and found that it was not there. I went so far as to enter creative mode and search the whole island for it. A friend of mine has experienced the same error.
