Generation bug

I have a world that is in the latest snapshot. I cant really find any structures near my home/spawn, so I made a new world with the same seed and tried to find a shipwreck. I typed /locate shipwreck and tp'd to it but there was no shipwreck. So here's my question: Do i have a very unlucky seed or is there something wrong with the generation in the latest snapshot?
