Minecraft crashes on vanilla install and no activity

I started up a clean version (after forcing Game Update) and opened an existing creative file. I walked away from the game after confirming it was loaded and came back within five minutes to find a crash report (see attached).

There are no mods installed and I wasn't actively moving the character when it crashed.
