No Endergate spawning after killing the Dragon for the first time

Playing in Hardcore version 20w20b, killed the ender dragon for the first time, didnt get an ender gate at all. I killed it a 2nd time, and I still didnt get an endergate I went into lan and turned on cheats so i could get the images
